While we like to think we’re free to do and say as we want, and that we’re protected by our Constitution and the rule of law, the reality is a bit darker. Teresa is interviewing the mother of a young man who is serving two life prison sentences without the possibility of parole. This seems extreme by itself, but it’s even more troubling considering it was for his first offense, and it was a non-violent crime. And this is no isolated case.

Our guest is Lyn Ulbricht, founder of FreeRoss.org. She is a political activist for individual freedom and privacy. She is also the mother of Ross Ulbricht, who is currently serving a double life sentence without parole for all non-violent charges, based on his role in the Silk Road website. Today, we’re discussing this case and the erosion of our civil liberties.
